Baby Steps

Today I started writing contact information on my snapshots.  I am doing this because a few months ago a friend of mine gave me a contact in the Children's Division at Abrams Artist.  I tried emailing photos of Baby Q but for reasons I can't explain they would not go through.  I decided to send them in the old fashioned way.  Actually I had my au pair do it.  She printed out all the pictures we'd picked out of Baby Q at the RiteAid, I wrote a letter to the agent at Abrams, and then I went off to have lunch with a friend.  When I got back home my very proud and industrious au pair had sent out the letter, photos, etc.  Great right?  Well the contact phone number on the letter was wrong because no one proofed it, and she sent out the photos without putting any information on them because she didn't know.

I wrestled with myself for days.  Should I send and email?  A second package with the correct contact information?  Would I look like a psycho or worse, unprofessional???  In the end I decided time was the best cure.  The must get so many photos that no one will remember mine.  So now time has passed and I am doing it all myself and making sure it is done correctly.

Not entirely true.  The au pair did go and print several sets of photos.  They have been sitting around for about a week and a half waiting for me to include Baby Q's name, weight, height, date of birth and CORRECT contact information.  Perhaps there is some thing else I should be including but I have no clue.  I was going to print labels on the printer but decided that was too much work (figuring out formatting, figuring out printer, etc.) and decided to just write it by hand.  I am now about 12 pictures in and already rethinking this choice.

I also thought about contact info.  Email doesn't feel immediate enough, yet having a phone number attached to a photo of my precious Baby Q getting into the hands of some creepy person.  I decided to go with a phone number understanding that I may have to change numbers some day.  But to those who are less paranoid than I am.  NEVER EVER EVER put your address on a photo.
